The Chinese startup Pudu Robotics surprised many by announcing its new intelligent robot, the D9, which will be able to perform a variety of assistance tasks.
The 1.7-meter humanoid robot is capable of walking upright at speeds of up to 7 km/h, surpassing the average human walking pace, and can carry up to 20 kg with its arms.
In addition, the D9 is equipped with high-precision sensors, allowing it to create 3D semantic maps of its surroundings in real time, enabling autonomous route planning and precise self-positioning.
The D9 also boasts “human-level multimodal natural interactions,” thanks to its advanced artificial intelligence processing structures. This makes it ideal for roles like a stock clerk in a supermarket who can also answer customer queries when needed.
Although the price of the D9 has not been announced by Pudu Robotics, it is speculated to fall within the $20,000 to $30,000 range, similar to the Optimus from Tesla.
